Bone drill use and precautions
Bone drills are ubiquitous in many surgical fields, including orthopedics, neurosurgery, craniomaxillofacial and ENT. Cylindrical channels are typically made in the bone using a bone drill to accommodate screws or other threaded devices for rigid fixation provided by the integration of bone (cancellous bone and/or cortex) with the threads. Bone drills are also used in the preparation of bone tunnels, such as anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.
The operating environment of the surgical bone drill bit is unique and very different from the engineering drill bits used in manufacturing or traditional non-bioengineering (building, construction, etc.). What should we pay attention to when using bone drills in this special environment?
1.The medical bone drill is a short-term product that is used for 10 minutes each time. Can not be used continuously for a long time.
2.The battery is strictly prohibited from high temperature and high-pressure sterilization. After the operation, the battery should be taken out of the medical bone drill and placed in the package. If it is not used for a long time, it should not be charged and discharged once to avoid the aging of the plate.
3.The charger power cord cannot be exposed to oil, chemical solution erosion and mechanical damage.
4.The equipment nurse should master the function of the device and the correct installation and use methods. Pay attention to maintenance. Only when properly maintained can the service life be extended and the expensive medical equipment can be used for a longer period of time.
